Directories can't tell you who is skilled, kind and reliable, or who actually has space this month. So we fall back on the handful of colleagues we know, and sometimes there's no one.

Frequently asked questions
Is it really free?
Yes. There's no joining fee, no subscription and no commission on referrals, now or later. Therapist Circle runs on free hosting as a not-for-profit project.
Who can join?
Qualified therapists, counsellors and psychologists practising in the UK, registered or accredited with a professional body such as HCPC, BACP, UKCP or BPS, and vouched for by someone who knows their work.
I don't know anyone in the circle yet. Can I still join?
Yes. Request an invitation and tell us who could vouch for you. While the circle is small, the founder reviews every request personally.
Do you store client information?
No. Referral requests use structured, non-identifying fields (such as age band and presenting issue), and every request is deleted 30 days after it's posted. Members are reminded never to share identifying details in messages.
Can clients search the directory?
No. The directory, referral board and messages are for signed-in members only.
How do I stay visible to referrers?
Keep your one-tap status up to date: “Open to referrals”, “Waiting list” or “Full”. Profiles show when it was last updated.
Is this a crisis service?
No. If someone needs urgent help, call NHS 111, Samaritans on 116 123, or 999 if life is at risk.
